BIOGRAPHY
Sarah Wales is a Dallas based dancer, choreographer, and educator trained in a variety of styles including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance and B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Austin. She has performed with companies including SoulEscape, URBAN Performing Company, B. MOORE DANCE, and Bombshell Dance Project. In addition to performing, she serves as Co-Director for URBAN Performing Company where she challenges her choreographic voice and helps dancers grow as professional working artists. She is on faculty with LUX Dance Convention and teaches locally at Ambition Dance Productions and Live Arts Conservatory. Her choreography has been commissioned for 6 O’Clock Dance Theatre, The Butler Opera Center, Garage Arts Project, HYPE Dallas, Cohen New Works Festival, Dance Repertory Theatre, and Moving Forward Winter Fest. Sarah is passionate about educating movers of all ages to use dance as a way to develop work ethic, artistic expression, and authenticity. In her creative practice, she relies on movement to gain a deeper understanding of the self and her contextual world.
